WHAT IS A MARITAL SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT?

An agreement made by the divorcing couple that outlines the division of: Property, Custody, Visitation, Alimony, Child Support, and any other terms the Spouses agree upon. Be sure to remember that when the marital settlement agreement is finalized in front of a notary public, the agreement becomes a legal document that cannot be changed just like a lease or any other type of contract authorized in the United States.
