Payments made by one Spouse to another during the separation or following a divorce. The Court will decide the final payment plan even if it may be different than the agreed upon amount by both Spouses. Alimony payments cannot be deducted from the paying Spouses' income taxes and the receiving Spouse must pay income tax on all payments received.

Alimony is generally not granted to marriages lasting longer than 3 years.
